Tornado Poem

We have been learning about some natural phenomenons. I learnt about the tornado. Here is my poem I wrote.

I see my Chance
The winds have aligned
It’s my time to show them what I can do.
I’m twirling away growing bigger by the second.
I see no one around except the daredevils I know.
They eye me up looking all around.
They don’t see the real me.
I am a tornado but they look at me as though I’m a gust.
I’m going to prove to them,
I’m not a thrill or a game.
They will regret judging me.
They are only storm chasers.
I am a tornado, they are nothing compared to me.
I run through their town,
destroying everything in my path.
I rip roofs off building and throw trucks apart
.I’m unstoppable.
At least for now.

What is Inertia?

Inertia is the first law of motion. Inertia is when an object wants to continue what it is doing. Like when you kick a stone it doesn't stop unless there is something their to stop it (like air resistance, a tree, or rough ground). But it takes force to kick since it doesn't want to move from its current spot.

Balanced and Unbalanced Forces

What is a Balanced Force?

Balanced force is when two forces acting on opposite sides of an object are equal in Newtons. It causes an object to stay still or move at a consistent pace.

What is an Unbalanced Force?

An unbalanced force is the opposite of a balanced force. An object with unbalanced force will move at an inconsistent pace. It can also turn.

Science Road Show Reflection

The Science Road Show

Today we went to Grey High were we were lucky to witnessed the science roadshow. The science roadshow is a fun interactive science roadshow (which the name implies) were there are lots of different interactive exhibits. We learned about chemical change and physical change. Physical change can be undone but most of the time chemical can not be undone. It was fun to see. Next time I would like to have more time to explore all the exhibits. They even had a competition were you could win a cool prize printed in a 3D printer. I had a great time and I can't wait for it to come again soon!

Sound (Musical Muse) With Catrin

Today Catrin and I made a musical video for our sound learning. We experimented with the different tones of the cups and made our own performance using pencils and cups filled with water.

Flora and Fauna Reflection. With Mr Barnett and Henk

R.I.P it Reflection

Today Ruma J got a visitor (Henk) from DOC. He took us on one of the local bush tracks and showed us some of the native flora on the track. I think that the best bit about it was how we got to see the plants in real life instead of just talking about it. This was very useful as in class as we are writing about Flora and Fauna for the Talking Shed project. The walk showed me how many different, native plants there are nearby. I think that the walk will help a lot with our Flora and Fauna Project.
